Summer is always in season on Golden Edit. The new Manhattan-based e-tailer sells a handpicked assortment of relaxed clothing, carefree accessories and sexy swimwear, all suited to sunny climes.
Founded by former fashion publicists and frequent flyers Florencia Cavallo and Elise Labau Topaloglu, the site carries a dozen international brands (and counting), ranging from Australia’s cult Matteau swimsuit line and Ecuador’s G. Viteri straw hats to Colombia’s Ka’imima woven bags.
“Curation is the driving force for us and the goal is to offer a selection that is palatable while ensuring the mix is always exciting to our customer,” Cavallo tells Alexa.
The founders also offer limited runs of must-haves they’ve come across on their own getaways, like the striped-cotton, fast-drying Turkish towels they found at Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar.
Recycled-plastic totes they chanced upon in Guanajuato, Mexico, meanwhile, are waterproof and big enough for stashing your beach-babe essentials. “The quantities are very small, and some truly are one-offs, so once they’re gone, they’re gone,” says Cavallo, who grew up in Argentina and Australia (Topaloglu was born in the South of France and raised in St. Barths).
“The magical part about travel for us is that sense of discovery, especially as it relates to unique pieces you find and the memories attached to them,” says Cavallo, “whether it’s a great woven bag from Mexico or a crocheted cover up at a beach market in Greece.”
