President Trump’s letter to Speaker Pelosi


President Donald Trump sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday, informing her that an apparent trip she had planned to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan “has been postponed” while the government shutdown continues.

Pelosi a day earlier sent Trump a letter suggesting they reschedule his State of the Union address due to the shutdown.

Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will resehedule this seyen-day esenrsion when the Shutdown is oyer. In light of the 836,000 great American workers not pay, 1 am sure you would agree that postponing this publie relations event is totally appropriate.

I also feel that, during this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Seeurity movement to end the Shutdown Obviously, if you would like to make your journey by flying eontntereial, that would eertainly be your prerogative.
