Johnny Rotten keeps museum crowd on their toes


The uptown sort on the board of the Museum of Arts and Design were excited about the arrival in of John Lydon, a k a Johnny Rotten, for an event at the museum — if a little unsure of what to expect of the onetime hell raiser.

The Sex Pistols star flew into town for the museum’s “Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die: Punk Graphics, 1976-1986” exhibit as the first Barbara Tober Visiting Scholar.

Tober, society philanthropist and chair emerita of the museum, said, “I look forward to shaking John’s hand — if handshaking is what he does.”

Lydon sat for a Q&A with “Please Kill Me” co-author Gillian McCain.
